About me
|
My name is Rob Kellock. I am a 46 year old primary trained (I no longer actively teach) teacher living near Christchurch, New Zealand with my wife and two children. Prior to teaching I spent 14 years working as a software consultant in the IT industry.
Classmaker came about because I found that teachers are constantly reinventing the wheel. Large amounts of effort is expended rewriting lesson plans that have been created previously by other teachers. Teacher's lesson plans quickly become lost in a jumble of Microsoft Word documents despite using a consistent file naming standard.
Teachers are very busy people and don't have time to fight with technology. Classmaker has been designed to get results as quickly as possible with minimum fuss. Hopefully I've achieved that. Your comments are welcome.
 | I've been a Cub Leader in the Scouting Movement with short breaks here and there for nearly 10 years now and during that time I've used two pieces of software consistently. For planning, I use Classmaker and for administration, I use a small Microsoft Access 2003 database called Cubs3.mdb that I wrote about the same time as I began developing Classmaker. Cubs3.mdb is bundled inside the Classmaker download as a File attachment inside Classmaker's database! You can find it under the Long Term plan called Cubs. Feel free to use it in any way that you like. If you find Classmaker to be useful email me an exported unit plan from Classmaker (exported unit plans appear in the C:\Classmaker\Transfer directory as *.dat files) that is clearly a planned Scout, Cub or Kea night and I will email you a free single user Classmaker licence. Include in your email, your full contact details, including your name, address and telephone number plus the contact details of your Scout Group. They will appear on your licence. |
